Black Ash Live Edge wood

Several years ago a large black ash tree in my yard started showing signs of distress. As it leaned out over my neighbour’s house I decided to cut it down rather than risk having it fall on his house. It was a very nice tree, about 20 inches in diameter at the base, and about 40 years old, so rather than simply have it cut up into fire wood or hauled away I opted to have a gentleman with a portable saw mill saw it into slabs for me. His mill could not go longer than 11 feet, so I have several 11 foot and a few 5 foot sections.

I am getting too old to play around with it now and so am looking to rehome it.

I built a small shed and stacked and stickered the wood and then left it to air dry for about 7 or so years. It has dried to about 12 - 17 percent moisture

There is remarkably little cupping, twisting or warping, many pieces do not seem to have any at all.

Most of the wood was slabbed at 1 to 1 1/4 inch

two of the larger pieces were slabbed at 2 inches

there is 1 slab a full 3 inches thick

Below are some images of the wood spread out for inspection. They are back under cover but are avail for inspection if you are interested.
