50 PRO I have several projects involving scanning family related images from a time period circa 1950. Mostly family related work, but both my parents were involved in the world of photography since the WW II. The images are upon a wide range of film stock and formats ranging from standard medium format like 120/620 to short lived 35mm experiments and even various sheet film, both precut and hand cut to fit in guillotine style magazines for medium to large format cameras.

Originally I was working with the equipment at the University of Manitoba Archives, but COVID and retirement has convinced me to equip my home studio with a digitizing suite which now include:

  • Epson Perfection V650

  • Epson Perfection V850 PRO

  • Canon EOS 70D (20 Mega Pixels)

for scanning and image capture.

Coupled with the ADOBE suite of image processing I have been able to deal with most digitization requirements I have encountered, and have scanned in over 1,000 images. Samples below.
