Photography
I predate the digital age of image taking by several decades. I started with an old Brownie box camera at age 6 and got my first brand new SLR 35 mm camera when I was about 25. I experimented with a number of early digital cameras but finally got a modern digital camera at about the age of 55. I took a course in analogue photography as part of my BFA and was surprized that I no longer liked dark room work, previously one of my favourite parts of making images. As well, the ability to process analogue images has become expensive and hard to access. I also find that large scale analogue imagery are digitized and printed via computers in any event so I have cheerfully abandoned my old world equipment (hard to do, I had some very nice glass for my old SLR) and converted to digital photography. At the moment I am running ADOBE suite processing, primarily Photoshop, but I find the Digital Professional software that comes with Canon cameras a remarkably useful tool for organizing and vetting my pictures.
PS - For those of you wondering, the equipment on the title page is mine. We had several cameras in the family and you graduated up the scale as your ability improved. I used this little darling for many years and it sits on my mantle piece as a reminder of my past.
